Berry College has long provided @vikings.berry.edu email accounts to alumni as a service. To strengthen security and better manage technology resources, the College is updating how long these accounts remain active. The key changes are outlined below, followed by additional details.

Beginning June 1, 2026, alumni will have access to their Berry email accounts for two years after graduation.
After the two-year period, email accounts will be deactivated.
Inactive accounts for alumni who graduated before the Class of 2024 will be closed on May 31, 2026.
Unused email accounts pose security risks and are frequent targets for hackers, creating ongoing challenges for the Berry IT team. This updated policy helps protect alumni and the College while ensuring responsible management of digital systems.
The two-year access window is designed to support alumni during key transitions. It provides time to retrieve transcripts and other important resources and to shift from a @vikings.berry.edu email address to a personal account for graduate school, career, and personal use.
