Andy Craddock (88C) has built his life around the philosophy of "I am third," placing God first, others second and himself third. It is a guiding principle he learned as a WinShape Scholar at Berry and has put into practice throughout decades of service to others.
Having volunteered and worked part-time at the Boys Club of Rome during his junior year, he began nearly two decades of work with the Boys and Girls Clubs organization soon after graduation. At age 32, he reached his personal goal of becoming executive director of a non-profit serving families when he became founding executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Sumter County in Americus, Georgia. There, he worked beside Habitat for Humanity founder Millard Fuller and teamed up with former President Jimmy Carter to build a community center named for the former president and first lady.
Andy's two decades of nonprofit experience include serving as founding director of three nonprofits, building and developing a retreat center, and working alongside his wife, Shari Ostack Craddock (90C), at the CARES food ministry in Pickens County, where he again served as executive director. He also has nearly 15 years of experience in commercial real estate facility management.
Today, he is director and counselor at the Joy House Counseling Center, which provides Christ-centered counseling to families and individuals struggling with difficult life issues. Each year he dedicates half his vacation time to serving others through volunteer opportunities, leading music for Christian men development camps and as a board member for a youth camping program.
