Shanna Mast (10C) - Tackling COVID in Kenya

Shanna Mast (10C)

Berry alums around the world are sharing stories about how they're stepping up to help others during this pandemic. Here's what one alumna, Shanna Mast (10C), said about her experience in East Africa.

What do you do for a living?

I'm a missionary at Bluesky Kenya.

How have you been impacted by COVID-19?

Despite living in East Africa, COVID-19 is at the forefront of our minds and local news updates.

We are sheltering-in-place, which isn't too bad because of the beautiful weather here! However, it does make it hard to do ministry virtually.

How have you been helping others during the COVID-19 pandemic?

We have partnered with another family in ministry to provide food for folks in the Muthari slum. Kenyans living in slums do not have the luxury of quarantining. Many may struggle to meet basic needs due to the economy.

What would you tell Berry alums and/or students right now?

Please pray for those in countries who do not have support, reliable healthcare, or the ability to reserve resources.

Take a moment to ponder your blessings during this time!
